Therapist by day and superhero by night!

Has trauma/life lead you to lose yourself in darkness?

You have no confidence in yourself. You are afraid to face the world. You feel you give too much. You feel very confused about who you really are.

You don’t see you when looking in the mirror. You can’t experience things you want to. You’re angry your life didn’t turn out like you wanted it. You feel disconnected from everything/one around you.

You will take on the world with the confidence you didn’t have before. You will set boundaries without fear. You will say “no” and not feel guilty.

You will know who you are and what you stand for. You will experience new and exciting things. You’re relationships will build you up rather than tear you down. You will take back what mental illness has stolen from you.

Who I am

Hello! My name is Ashley and I am currently an intern at Willow Counseling while pursuing my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at Northwestern University. I have always known that I wanted to help people and truly believe that counseling enables people to become healthier and more resilient to fight the impacts of trauma or the symptoms of depression or anxiety. I worked at a crisis center for sexual assault survivors and was so passionate about being a tiny piece of each survivor’s healing journey, which is part of the reason why I am here today. I utilize many different techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Therapy to help you reach your goals.

FYI…

Troy University, BS in Psychology

Liberty University, MA in Mental Health Counseling – will graduate in 2021!!

Certified with Attentional and interpersonal Style (TAIS)

Certified with Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts (SYMBIS)

Goofy, compassionate, enthusiastic, a bit (and by that I mean A LOT) geeky, and willing to walk this scary road with you until you reach your destination.

My interest in mental health counseling started with my own self-discovery. It was through the traumas I experienced throughout my life where I discovered it takes a helping hand or outside force to guide you through the darkness. This is where you find peace, love, and ultimately yourself.

Like Natasha Romanoff; “I don’t judge people by their worst mistakes.” I fully believe that to become who you truly are, you have to deal with the past and be prepared for the future. I am fully ready and willing to help you on your path to healing and discovery.
